Description
McWay Falls is located near Big Sur, CA in the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park along pacific coast highway. My adventure to photograph this place began at 3am I had to drive 3 hours to get to McWay Falls before the sun came up. I noticed that there was not too much traffic at this hour as most normal people are sleeping but not this photographer. I was on a mission. I arrived to the falls at about 6am no one was in site so I found a spot that I liked, set up the tripod and began taking my photographs. This is one of the original photograph I found appealing. After this I was off to Big Sur and Piedras Blancas which turned out to be a 12 mile hike I wasn't anticipating. During the 12 mile hike while I was walking on the beach there were 8 vultures some on the beach some in the sky. I was feeling like they were thinking I was dinner. It was an adventure, but I asked for it. Hope you enjoy this image. (c) David Millenheft All Rights Reserved.

Wow!!! Stunning capture! Makes me think of Hawaii
David Millenheft replied:
Thank You Dianna. Hawaii I've never been maybe someday although I do grow plumerias in the back yard for that tropical feel :-)

I have visited a couple time and haven't gotten a shot I am happy with. Beautiful even lighting!
David Millenheft replied:
I took many photos right as the sun was coming up. I happened to like this one. This was my 2nd visit. First time was at sunset which creates a whole different mood. I'm headed out to Utah in October and hope to visit some of the sites. Any spots you know of for photography? Thanks, DM
